Adoption Days are always a memorable moment for any family. However, a recent Adoption Day that occurred in Michigan will forever be ingrained in the mind and heart of one little girl.
On June 8, Jim and Sarah Koning adopted two children — one-year-old Neveah and five-year-old Danielle. In honor of Danielle’s love for all things Disney, especially Disney princesses, the judge and foster care and adoption staff overseeing the adoption decided to do something special. Judge Patricia Gardner dressed up as Snow White, while the foster care and adoption staff dressed as Disney Princesses. There was even a Prince Charming!
“I’m just blown away at the amount of support and how much all my co-workers jumped on board,” Kristina Grey, foster care case manager, said. “It made this day special for these little girls.”
Judge Gardner added, “It was lots of fun and all child-centered to make a kid feel special and at ease at what can be a difficult hearing.”
