Yes, today may be Thanksgiving, but Hershey’s is already focusing on the winter holidays with their newest commercial which features a gay couple.
In the video, Josh and Matt Noble explain how they moved Josh’s mother to New York, following the death of his father, so she could be closer to them. The couple and Josh’s mom make family recipes together and then hang stocking above a TV “fireplace” image, filling all the stockings with Hershey’s kisses, a tradition that the Noble family did with their family during the holidays.
Senior Brand Manager Yussef Kuri told Huff Post that the company wanted to highlight real stories with this commercial: “The Hershey Company and Hershey’s Kisses chocolates bring people together and help to celebrate life’s special moments.” Kuri also mentioned that Hershey’s fosters “an inclusive workplace that reflects different perspectives and celebrates input from people of different backgrounds and experiences. Each and every one of these stories are the perfect example of the values and culture that is deeply embedded in our company.”
