Can you believe it’s already March? It’s that time of year when the weather changes, Spring arrives, and we start spring cleaning and letting go of things in our life. This March, The Next Family wants to focus on “letting go” in different ways in our lives.
As parents, we’re raising little balls of energy (in our case 3). Though structure is always great and a wonderful must-learn aspect that helps them navigate as citizens in the world, sometimes we just need to let them go and allow them to be as silly as they like. Not only is it a great experience for them, it’s an entertaining experience for us!
Take our most recent Youtube video as an example! During the Oscars, our children did fashion reviews of the celebrities on the red carpet and the result was absolutely hilarious! (I mean, who ever heard of a “boob crack?” See video for reference).
So for all of our helicopter parents out there — we’ve all been known to be a little “helicopter-ey” — let go just a tiny bit (or a lot). Let your kids be silly, let loose, and have fun this March. We know you can do it!
