Is It Summer Yet?

My daughter has taken to only wearing tank tops. Every morning I try to slip a T-shirt or god forbid a long sleeve past her and she screams “Tank Top Mama, NEED the tank top, WANT the tank top!” I can’t figure it out, but even through our rainy trip to San Francisco, she insisted on being dressed for the summer. So I’m doing laundry like crazy and searching the stores for summer dresses and tops. I have even tried buying very thin comfy shirts, which I prefer because I too run hot, but Sophia won’t have it. I just know in a month when we are fully stocked for her new style and the sun is starting to peek out again, she’s going to want mittens and scarves. Oh the plight of a toddler-bearing mama.

She said what?!? OMG she’s far surpassing her future boyfriend in language skills. I hope she likes the strong silent type…
She can chat enough for the two of them, as long as he buys her lots and lots of tank tops.
Our daughter, Izzy, is exactly the same way. We’ve tried everything and just given up. We now let her go out in whatever she wants and it’s almost always a tank top or spaghetti straps. We’ve decided she runs hot and there isn’t much we can do for a kid who feels strongly about her wardrobe. She also has a long top that she refers to as her “pretty dress” that we see at every opportunity. Our son (Izzy’s twin) could care less. His only real dislike is jeans – not sure why but just doesn’t like them. We get him in them every now and then just because they’re sooo cute.
