I have this same issue with Wanda Sykes. Don’t expect me to congratulate you on coming out, when you staying in for as long as you did hurt the movement. I guess I’m militant, but I don’t really view it as a personal decision. Much like blacks passing, I think it just sets us back.

As someone who is in an IR, I am shocked that states are letting the people decide on gay marriage. If the Lovings let the people decide, they wouldn’t have been able to get legally married in Virginia until like the 90s. I say let people catch up. I hate feeling like I’m waiting for people to die in order to ensure that everyone is able to marry who they love.

Hi Rosy,
My partner an I also struggled with infertility and agreed that the ONE thing we definitely WOULD NOT do was IVF using one’s eggs in the other’s body. Well, after one pregnancy (and resulting miscarriage), 9 tries with varying degrees of fertility drugs, lots of procedures, and my partner finally giving up and turning the “fertility baton” over to me, we decided THAT was exactly the way to go. Since I was younger and it was important for my partner to be pregnant, it made sense. The whole process and resulting pregnancy is a long story but the result is that our twins just had their 3rd birthday this past Monday. They’re beautiful and healthy and awesome! You will succeed, even if it’s in a different form than your original vision.

A participant referred me to you and after reading your blogs and navigating through your website I can clearly see why, WOW what a great site! I am a senior at Penn State University finishing my Bachelor Degree.I am currently conducting a study that involves Lesbian couples who have conceived or adopted a child together (inclusive are couples that may have separated since). The main focus is on resources available and negotiations of custody for the mothers, legal or personal. My goal is to eventually offer parents resources and a more thorough understanding of the process involved with becoming parents in states that same-sex marriage is not recognized.
