TNF: Tell me about your family. Are you married? Do you have kids?
BLAIR: We are not married but we are having a ceremony coming this weekend! We have four kids; a daughter 22, son 21, son 15, daughter 13.
TNF: How did you meet your partner?
BLAIR: We met each other on-line and have been together for 13 years.
TNF: Do you feel different from other families? If so, how so?
BLAIR: We really don’t feel that different from other families. We deal with the same issues as all of our straight friends deal with….grades, day to day teenage drama and all the other thing parents deal with.
TNF: Where do you live? Is it tough being a gay couple where you live?
BLAIR: Idaho Falls, ID. Other than the fact there is still a segment of the community that feels we shouldn’t have the same rights as they do and at times there are issues like non-discrimination ordinances where we conflict in public with people who would normally have nothing to do with our lives. Do you feel accepted? Our day to day lives and the people we see have been very accepting. We have both been out to our families, work friends for several years and really don’t experience the issue on non-acceptance.
TNF: What has having a family meant to you?
BLAIR: Having four amazing kids is wonderful. The idea that there are people in our community that look at us as a model is an achievement we pride ourselves in.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful family! And congrats on your wedding coming up this weekend!
