KAILA: Lisa and I met almost five years ago. I can’t believe how time is flying. It feels like just yesterday, I was handing her my business card and caressing her hair as she passed by. I just want to state that I was slightly intoxicated for the record. I knew immediately that she was the one for me, two weeks into dating her. I guess the statement is true about when you know, you just know. We eloped to New York and got married on Dec 4, 2013. It was a court house wedding. Just a few friends and us. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. It was perfect!
KAILA: I don’t feel we’re different from other families. Our family does the same thing as any other family would. We live in Florida and I’ve noticed people stare more in the south. I think they’re curious or it could be my wife’s shaved head or my big curly Afro. We get questions all the time about how we conceived or who’s the real mom. I’m a very open person and don’t mine answering questions. But the question about who’s the real mom, annoys me to no end. It doesn’t matter who is the biological mother. We are a family and both of us is her real mom.
