As a parent, do you sometimes wonder how you’re going to talk to your kids about what it means to be gay or LGBT or even about the history of marriage equality? It’s a daunting task for some parents who aren’t quite sure where to start, which is why Queer Kids Stuff is a much needed YouTube channel.
Queer Kids Stuff is a kid-friendly YouTube channel with host, Lindsay, and her friend Teddy, a teddy bear. On this brand new YouTube channel, Queer Kids Stuff will cover and explain LGBT topics in ways that will be most receptive to children. Lindsay and Teddy discuss different LGBT topics in what looks to be a playroom. There’s fun children’s music and some cool animation to delight children.
The first video, “What does ‘gay’ mean?” seeks to explain to children what the word “gay” means within society. It also focuses on how families look different and the beauty of those differences.
“These families all may look so different from each other,” says Lindsay, “but what matters, is that we’re all family.”
Though it’s a brand new channel that just released it’s first video two weeks ago, it has a great concept and could be of great help to parents all over the world.
