Though many of us are attached to the hip to our Netflix accounts, we might want to consider opening a Hulu account, especially if they continue to provide awesome LGBT-related children’s cartoons!
Check out the newest cartoon that came out on Hulu. It’s called, “Rosaline” and follows a young woman as she overcomes trials and tribulations in a magical world on her way to meet her true love — a woman.
The short cartoon was created by Daniel Errico. He told Huffington Post, “Historically, kids’ media shies away from LGBT love, marriage and identity, which can cause an imbalance.”
“We are missing an opportunity to foster children’s natural ability to accept and understand themselves and others, and that can have serious consequences later on in life. I grew up with stories I could relate to that affected my sense of self in a positive way, and every child deserves the same chance.”
Absolutely, Errico! And parents will be happy that this isn’t Errico’s first children’s cartoon that features LGBT love and identity. He also created “The Bravest Knight Who Ever Lived” which is also on Hulu.
It’s heartwarming to see media such as these cartoons and even Hulu provide children of different backgrounds and families the opportunity to see that LGBT love is the same as any other love.
