Target has continually led the way in inclusivity from eliminating color coding of children’s toys sections to allowing trans people to use the bathroom of their identity in Target stores. Recently, the brand announced a wonderful new clothing line for children that’s gender neutral.
Starting on July 17, the gender neutral clothing line, produced by Toca Boca, will start to make appearances in stores. Parents should expect to see clothes, backpacks, sleepwear, and toys ranging from $3 to $30, all of which is tailored toward children of any gender identity. Quirky, not-of-this-Earth animal characters will be featured on the clothes.
“Our vision for the clothing line was to do what we’re good at at Toca Boca, which is play, and translate that into everyday experiences for kids,” Mathilda Engman, Toca Boca’s design director, says.
Engman added, “Everything we make at Toca Boca is designed for all kids; it’s our mission to make sure no kid ever feels excluded by Toca Boca.”
“True to those values the collection was designed with inclusivity in mind, and we are so excited to see it will be merchandised together as a collection sitting between the boys and girls aisle of many Target stores.”
