I remember a time when Pride month meant parties and drinking and meeting girls! Now we are considering taking our kids to the Gay Pride parade because it represents all of the people that fought the gay rights movement. Our kids don’t know this yet, they don’t know that police would raid gay bars and businesses turn people like us away, that there are many people in this country that fear LGBTQ+ humans and would rather program them to be something they are not. They don’t need to know all of this yet but they should feel the pride that we feel when we know how far we’ve come, when we can celebrate the happy faces all joining as one on a day, in a month out of the year where bright colors fill the streets and we can be exactly who we are! Happy Pride, here are a few beautiful faces that have either inspired or have shared their stories, their fears, their pride and their families with us!
